This release introduces the new Shorts Showcase and Embed components, a refreshed Centers & Institutes display, some polish for the profile component, along with a handful of maintenance updates and bug fixes.

New Features

New Shorts Showcase Component

The Shorts Showcase component lets editors showcase multiple YouTube Shorts videos on your pages. It is optimized for mobile-friendly vertical video formats and flexible enough to handle other standard video dimensions. 

What this means for editors:

• Shorts Showcase is now available in the component list to display a row of vertical video or short-form content.
• Add multiple items to a single component rather than stacking several single embeds.

An Embed Component

A new component type, Embed, is now available. It gives admins greater control to include embed code (for example, a custom video player, visualization, or third-party widget) along with a title, subtitle, description, and link, plus background color/image and spacing controls. While the component can only be added by an admin, everything except the code itself can be edited by restricted editors.

Refinements

• Centers & Institutes Teaser Refresh
The Centers & Institutes teaser display was reworked: the group heading now uses a proper heading level, spacing was cleaned up, a description was added to the teaser, and results now display centers before affiliated programs.
• Profile Component Polish
Spacing/styling was cleaned up for consistency with other components.

Bug Fixes

• 75/25 component: Fixed a width-collapsing display issue on the 75/25 layout component.
• Shield (site protection): Corrected Shield password-protection settings on some URLs in development environments.
• Topic pages: Fixed a pager bug that caused headline articles to appear duplicated on Topic pages; the pager now also shows more items per page.
• Local task tabs: The tab bar shown when viewing/editing content (View/Edit/Delete-style tabs) is now left-aligned instead of right-aligned — a cosmetic change, no functional impact.

Security & Infrastructure

• Drupal core, Content Lock, and Cloudflare Purge modules updated (June 2026 security round).
• MySQL upgraded to version 8.4.
• DDEV local development commands updated (developer tooling only, no editor impact).
