Content Types act like forms for entering various types of information, from text, to images, or videos. Each content type has pre-defined fields and will then stylize the information for you.  


They can vary in flexibility. Some are more structured and suited for content with similar formats, like events and articles. Others are more adaptable, allowing you to create a wide range of webpage layouts.


See below the main content types available:


Page

The Page content type supports all content that doesn’t fall in line with one of the other content types below. This is the content type you will use for most webpages. It is like a blank template where you can add components to build a webpage in any number of ways.

Article

The Article content type supports news-type items created by you or your team. Use this content type to create news articles, stories, or press releases.

Article Contributor

The Article Contributor content type can be used along with the article content type. It supports adding article authors to Drupal so they can be dynamically referenced when adding an article using the article content type.

Event

The Event content type supports event information and helps highlight their date, time, and location. These can then be displayed within your site using a View component and/or the School Event Calendar. Additionally, it provides visitors with an easy way to add the event to their calendar.

Publications

The Publication content type supports highlighting academic content such as publications in JAMA. This content can then be displayed within your site using a View component.

External Authors

The External Authors content type can be used along with the Publications content type. It supports adding publications' authors to Drupal so they can be dynamically referenced when adding a publication using the publication content type.

Program

The Program content type supports Academic Programs. This content type is not available in Groups. Please submit a ticket to the Web Team Help Desk if you are trying to add academic program content.


Department

The Department content type supports the main homepages for the ten Departments.  This should not be used, or updated, by anyone other than Department Communications Associates.
