Content Types act like forms for entering various types of information, from text, to images, or videos. Each content type has pre-defined fields and will then stylize the information for you.
They can vary in flexibility. Some are more structured and suited for content with similar formats, like events and articles. Others are more adaptable, allowing you to create a wide range of webpage layouts.
See below the main content types available:
- Page
The Page content type supports all content that doesn’t fit into one of the other content types below. This is the content type you will use for most webpages. It is like a blank template you can use to build a webpage in any number of ways. - Article
The Article content type supports news-type items created by you or your team. Use this content type to create news articles, stories, or press releases. - Article Contributor
The Article Contributor content type can be used along with the article content type. It supports adding article authors to Drupal so they can be dynamically referenced when adding an article using the article content type. - Event
The Event content type supports event information and helps highlight the date, time, and location. These can then be displayed within your site using a View component and/or the School Event Calendar. Additionally, it provides visitors with an easy way to add the event to their calendar. - Media Mentions
Summaries of media coverage featuring the School and its centers, faculty, researchers, students, and alumni. - Publications
The Publication content type supports highlighting academic content. This content can then be displayed within your site using a View component. Publications are currently limited to groups and cannot be created outside of that context by most users. - Program
The Program content type supports Academic Programs. This content type is not available in Groups.
Please submit a ticket to the Web Team Help Desk if you are trying to add academic program content. - Department
The Department content type supports the main homepages for the ten Departments.
This should not be used or updated by anyone other than Department Communications Associates.
